Throughout the United States, oil prices are hitting an all-time high, with the national average being $4.752 per gallon. According to MoneyWise, that is 51% higher than last year's $3.137 per gallon.

U.S. President Joe Biden sent 5 million barrels of oil to China despite this. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene tweets, "Can we impeach Joe Biden now???" In anger at Biden's decisions to send already scarce oil to China. Many people are upset at Biden's choice. 19fortyfive says that Biden had called for the release of the strategic oil reserve to reduce gas prices. However, they say it has no positive effect on gas prices, as there is now less oil to release in the reserves.
Joe Biden urged gas stations to lower gas prices in a tweet. This angered many. They argued that who has the gas doesn't matter but how much gas there is.
Business Insider Africa says that Matt Smith, Kpler oil analyst, said, "Crude and fuel prices would likely be higher if [the SPR releases] hadn't happened, but at the same time, it isn't really having the effect that was assumed."
