On August 30, 2022, U.S. President Joe Biden said in a speech that he is "determined to ban assault weapons in this country." He has signed a bill limiting the sale, transport, manufacturing, and use of assault weapons nationwide. Whether that bill will be passed or not is a different issue that we don't have the time for.
I want to talk about what this means for us as citizens.
He wants to increase police funding. He does this to increase "peace of mind" to the public.
Some could argue that this might infringe the second amendment right to bear arms; however, one could argue back that this is not a total ban on all guns, leaving citizens an option to protect themselves with other guns.
