Biden's Trip To The Middle East - An Update

On July 13, 2022, President Joe Biden left the United States on a diplomatic mission to the Middle East. He returned four days later. Let's look at what he did.

Biden had visited the Middle East for diplomatic relations. But, while hoping to cement American influence in the region and a positive relationship between Israel and the Arab states, many critics from both the Middle East and America critique him harshly.

Biden had told the Arab leaders, "We will not walk away and leave a vacuum to be filled by China, Russia, or Iran. We'll seek to build on this moment with active, principled American leadership." However, many question this statement's validity for several reasons. One of those reasons namely being Russian President Vladimir Putin cementing an alliance with Iran. With the U.S.'s military history in the Middle East, many Arabs reported in a survey that the United States is one of their most significant national security concerns.

That survey showed that most Arabs are unwilling to have friendly relations with Israel.

Biden had also attempted to create a trade with Saudi Arabia for increased oil trade. However, Saudi Arabia has said that they can not make promises of decreasing oil prices as they say they can only create 13 million barrels of oil a day.

Biden's reputation has lowered significantly because of this visit. Vox says, "In the end, the U.S. comes across as a fragile empire. Fragile because of its own democratic backsliding and Biden's domestic political struggles."

We will wait for future news.
